Performed from the Tatehiza posture, which was used by Samurai while relaxing, Shimabukuro teaches these techniques against single and multiple opponents. He takes the time to show each techinuqe in slow motion to facilitate easy learning.
Masayuki Shimabukuro was born in March 1948 in Osaka, Japan. He studied Judo, Karate-do and Okinawan weapons as a teenager. His sword training began in 1975. Master Shimabukuro received the rank of 8th dan in Muso Jikiden Eishin-Ryu Iaido and Shito-Ryu Karate-do, and holds the coveted title of Hanshi in both Iaido and Karate-do.
