The art of Soempat is from the Indonesian Silat System. It is a weapon constructed of fire-hardened rattan which features a curved end, and was developed for both offense and defense applications. 
This is the first instructional DVD to cover the principles of Soempat, which includes the system's angles, techniques and Sambutans. Sifu/Guro Crow teaches the Sambutans (counter for counter), basic 9 angles of the art, offensive and defensive techniques, and the rare first 2 Jurus of Silat. 60 min.

The Soempat system was created in the 1950's by Pat Tisari Mardjoeki, student of Mas roen. Mas roen had trained under the Silat system founder, Bapak Sera. This system was passed down to Guro Victor deThouars who personally trained Sifu/Guro Raymond Crow in both Silat and the Soempat system.  
Sifu/Guro/Coach Raymond Crow has been certified by the late Grandmaster Richard Bustillo, Guro Dan Inosanto, Sifu Larry Hartsell and Ajarn Chai Sirisute. Before his passing, Guro deThouars granted Sifu/Guro Crow permission to teach Silat and the Soempat system to the public.  He was also honored to assist the Conditioning Coach of the Dallas Cowboys Bob Ward from 1982 to 1989.
