Ronald Lee Marchini is a member of the Black Belt Hall of Fame, and was widely recognized as the best defensive fighter in karate between 1967 and 1970. He was the top-ranked karate fighter in the United States in 1969 and also famously fought Chuck Norris, giving Norris his first tournament victory. After a period in the film industry, Marchini focused on writing martial arts books and teaching.
